Cricket Introduction
Cricket is a team sport in England. It is popular in Commonwealth countries where it is one of the most important summer sports. Cricket is played between two teams of 11 players and there is a twelfth player to replace one of them in the case of an emergency, on an oval pitch, in general on grass, which measures 135 meters per 150. The teams are usually made of players having complementary qualities: some of them are rather good batsmen, the others are rather bowlers. Finally, the wicket – keeper who must wear special protection equipment is a special player, who needs to have quick reactions. Some players can master two positions; therefore they are good batters and good bowlers or good batters and good wicket – keepers, so they are called all–rounder players. All the players are batters during the match.
